How do I optimize battery life on my tablet?

From home screen, slide screen up. Go to Settings > Battery. Here you can view your Battery usage, turn on Battery Saver mode, and Adaptive Battery, which allows you to limit battery for apps that you do not use often. Additionally, you can extend your tablet’s battery life between charges by manually turning off features you do not need/are not in use, such as Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and Automatic syncing for Gmail, calendar, contacts and other applications.

Turn down screen brightness. To do so, from home screen, slide screen up. Go to Settings > Display > Brightness Level, and drag bar to desired brightness (50% is recommended).

While charging, the battery icon in the top right corner will display a lightning bolt. The lightning bolt in the battery icon will no longer appear when the charging process ends. If the battery has completely drained, wait at least 15 minutes for the charging indicator to appear on your device. Always be sure to insert charger into device in the right direction. Inserting charger incorrectly can cause charging failure or physical damage. Furthermore, charge device by connecting it to the charging cable that comes with your tablet, as it does not accept fast-charging chargers or others not authorized for use with the device.

What is Mobile Hotspot?

  • Mobile hotspot, also referred to as tethering, is when you share your mobile data connection with other Wi-Fi capable devices. Please note that you must be on a plan that is mobile hotspot enabled and has a hotspot data allotment.
  • Mobile Hotspot is password protected. Having a password prevents others with a Wi-Fi capable device from connecting to your Mobile Hotspot.

NOTE: Under Hotspot & Tethering, you can also click “Bluetooth tethering”, which allows you to share your tablet’s internet connection via Bluetooth.
